NO FCRA USE. This privately run website has no government affiliation and is not a consumer reporting agency or private investigation service. Neither the site nor its advertising partners offers a tool intended for credit, employment, insurance, tenant, or other Fair Credit Reporting Act use.
1. What This Website Is
This is an independent private reference site. It does not keep official criminal records, retrieve agency files, perform an official check, or submit forms for a visitor.
Its content identifies public routes at the Piatt County Sheriff, Circuit Clerk, Illinois State Police Bureau of Identification, and Illinois State Police Sex Offender Registry. Illinois FOIA, 5 ILCS 140, and UCIA, 20 ILCS 2635, govern public access through the appropriate agencies, not through this site.
2. Rules for Using This Site
Use is conditioned on an agreement not to:
- Interfere with availability or another visitor's access
- Attempt unauthorized access to any system or account
- Deploy bots, scrapers, or automated collection tools
- Use information to threaten, harass, or stalk a person
- Use site content for hiring, housing, credit, or insurance decisions
- Violate any applicable local, Illinois, or federal law
3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination
No site or linked-tool information may be used to intimidate, threaten, stalk, harass, or unlawfully discriminate. Misuse may also violate criminal law. Illinois State Police Sex Offender Registry data is published for community awareness. It does not authorize vigilantism, blacklisting, or discrimination against a listed person or household.
4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency
Piatt County Criminal History is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and does not create background checks, credit reports, or consumer reports. Site and linked-tool data may not be used to:
- Set insurance eligibility, coverage, or price
- Evaluate creditworthiness
- Make an employment decision
- Evaluate a rental or housing application
- Determine access to a license, permit, benefit, or other FCRA-regulated purpose
A regulated background check must come from a lawful official channel, such as the Illinois State Police Bureau of Identification where authorized, or a screening provider that complies with the FCRA.
5. No Legal Advice
General descriptions of Piatt County records are informational, not legal advice. A licensed Illinois attorney should address how a warrant, charge, conviction, expungement, or sealing rule applies to a particular matter.
6. No Warranties
All services and content are provided "as is" without a guarantee that:
- A partner search result will be complete or correct
- Content will always be current, complete, or accurate
- Every page will be free from defects or security flaws
- Access will remain available without interruption
Charges, dispositions, sealing orders, and expungements can change the official record. Site content may lag those changes and must not be treated as a statement from the Piatt County courts, sheriff, or an Illinois agency.
7. Third-Party Services and Links
Outbound links lead to government offices, court systems, legal resources, and search providers that operate independently. Their content, availability, prices, data practices, and terms are outside this site's control. Review the destination's rules before use.
8. Intellectual Property
Piatt County Criminal History or its content partners own the site's text, graphics, logos, and code. Copying, adapting, distributing, or creating derivative works requires prior written permission.
9. Limits on Our Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the site's operators are not liable for damages arising from site use, linked services, or reliance on information found through either.
10. Indemnification
You agree to defend and hold the site's operators harmless from claims or demands arising from your use or violation of these terms, including related legal fees and costs.
11. Governing Law
Illinois law governs these terms. Any dispute connected with site use must be brought in a court located in Illinois.
12. Changes to These Terms
These terms may be revised at any time. A revision takes effect when the updated text is posted here.
13. Cutting Off Access
Access may be suspended or ended at any time, with or without advance notice.
14. Severability
If any provision is held invalid or unenforceable, all remaining provisions continue in effect. The affected language will be limited only as needed to make it enforceable.
15. Questions
Questions about these conditions may be submitted through the Contact page.
